The Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) connects fashion brands to a world of exceptional artisanal production to transform supply chains through a structured network of social enterprises in emerging economies.
Our network of social enterprises exists to prove that producing and exporting high quality products is truly and practically compatible with a fair wage, decent working conditions, job creation and resilient communities in emerging economies.
Rooted in sustainability, empowerment, and heritage, Hands Of Fashion brings high-quality, ethically made pieces from our social enterprise partners’ different product categories into one lifestyle brand, crafted by skilled artisans as a celebration of African craftsmanship and its place in global fashion.
In Kenya, EFI is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS.) In West Africa, EFI is supported by the European Union (EU) and the Organisation of African States (OACPS) under the ACP – Business Friendly Programme. In Lesotho, EFI is supported by the Government of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Security and Nutrition (MAFSN), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD.)
