The Ethical Fashion Initiative creates and strengthens social enterprises for artisanal production in emerging economies
After more than a decade of work in Africa and Central Asia, we have a broad and active network of artisan producers able to deliver scaled, quality craftsmanship. Our active projects are spread across 5 locations across West, East, Central and Southern Africa, with our network of established partners extending to East Africa, and Central Asia.
A network of weaving cooperatives across Burkina Faso offering traditional textiles in contemporary formats for ease of production. CABES GIE is the textile training and production partner for EFI activities in Burkina Faso.
An accessory production network centred in Nairobi offering a wide range of skills from beadwork and weaving to metal engraving and deadstock transformation. Tujikuze is our production management partner for all EFI activity in East Africa.
Solar-powered clothing and textile accessory workshop in Abidjan, with design, digital patternmaking, prototyping and production services for brands and businesses seeking stylish and durable pieces.

Laurenceairline manages all production in-house, producing sustainable collections with their team of tailors from Bassam whilst sourcing most of their fabrics from local markets, contributing to the local community and creating relationships of trust.
