Workshop in Nairobi – Understanding EU regulations on Sustainable Textiles

The Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) invites fashion designers, textile producers and fashion entrepreneurs to an in person workshop on EU regulations on Sustainable Textiles, hosted by EFI in Nairobi and led by Sustainable Textiles Specialist Beatrice Vaskytė. 

Join us to gain practical knowledge of the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, including the Digital Product Passport, due diligence requirements, upcoming chemical restrictions and much more.

  • 10:00 – 10:15: Guest Arrival & Registration
  • 10:15 – 10:30: Welcome & Introduction – Nana Kisha, ESG Due Diligence Adviser at EFI
  • 10:30 – 11:30: Presentation & Discussion – Understanding EU Regulations with Beatrice Vaskytė, Sustainable Textiles Specialist at UNEP
  • 11:30 – 12:15: Q&A Session
  • 12:15 – 1:00: Closing Remarks, Networking & Refreshments

About Beatrice Vaskyté:

Beatrice Vaskyté is a Sustainable Textiles Specialist in the Industry & Economy Division. She works within the textiles team on the implementation of the UNEP Textile Initiative that aims to provide strategic leadership and encourages sector-wide collaboration to accelerate a just transition towards a sustainable and circular textile value chain, focusing on scaling up circular business models, tackling overconsumption and overproduction and eliminating hazardous chemicals, with projects across Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

 

In Kenya, EFI is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
