Burkina Faso
One of the largest and most significant cotton producers on the African continent, Burkina Faso is famed throughout the world for its high-quality textile production. Strengthening this sector has led to job creation and allowed for substantial social impact within the country.
The introduction of wide looms, producing cloth 130 cm wide, has made this fabric attractive to international buyers, including Loewe, Camper and United Arrows. With the support of the European Union, EFI is investing in training and equipment to build production capability in the local industry.

“My name is Zongo Brigitte, I am 28 years old. I am mother of 4 and I weave since 7 years ago. I like this job because it provides me with the necessary money to take care of my children and to cover my own needs. The skills I am developing through the orders are will contribute to increase my income in the future. I am really happy to work among other women and I am grateful to United Arrows for the orders”.
