FAQs

How can I become involved with the initiative?

We update our social media accounts regularly with information on new projects, events, and brand partnerships. Follow our Instagram and Facebook to stay updated on our activities around the world.

As a consumer, the best way to engage with EFI is to become a fashion activist. Put pressure on brands to be transparent and to disclose how and where their products are made and what human and environmental impact they have had. Demand workers be paid a living wage. Join the Fashion Revolution and ask brands ‘Who Made My Clothes?’ And, if you can, buy a product made with EFI assistance from one of our brand partners.

I am looking for an internship/volunteer experience. Do you have any positions available?

At present, we do not offer volunteer work positions in any of our international projects. The list of internships at the ITC headquarters in Geneva is updated regularly and can be found here.

I would like to join the EFI team. Are there any vacancies?

The Ethical Fashion Initiative is a programme of the International Trade Centre (ITC). Vacancies are advertised on the ITC job portal. A list of open consultancy positions can be found here.

I have a fashion label and would like to work with the Ethical Fashion Initiative. How do I go about doing this?

Our social enterprises tend to have high minimum order quantities (MOQs) to ensure all orders produced positively and substantially impact the lives of artisans, micro-producers, and communities. That is why we try to build long-term relationships with our brand partners, rather than producing one-off collections. It is harder to work with smaller and newer brands, but if you would like to become one of our brand partners, please fill out the contact form below.

We are an organization working in a country where the EFI does not operate in and would like to collaborate with you. How can we do this?

At present we have projects in Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Haiti, Kenya, Mali, Uganda, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. We are working hard to make these projects sustainable and are not currently able to support other projects.

Can you put me in touch with your network of artisans?

Our social enterprises in Nairobi, Ouagadougou, and Kabul coordinate the activities of our network of artisans, liaise with brands, and manage logistics. If you would like to explore working with our social enterprises. please use the contact form below, giving details on your brand and what you would like to produce.
